People often ask me if I actually use my antique dishes frequently - and my answer is yes! In fact, as I sit here I am making use of a really wonderful pot that I found in my parent's basement - both pretty and functional! It keeps my tea warm while I am working. Food just seems to taste better when it is well-presented on pretty dishes. When planning events, I often mix and match colors, patterns, and textures - selecting dishes that go with the general theme or aesthetic that I am aiming for. Each dish brings a special memory. The dish may have come from a cherished person, found on an antiquing adventure with my husband or children, brought back from a trip abroad, or used as part of a special family tradition.
